Cristiano Ronaldo has become one of the most famous and exciting football (American soccer) players in the world in an impressively small amount of time. The shocking fact about him, is that at is his current age of 21, he hasn't even reached half of his potential. Many people are impressed mostly with his tricks and dribbling skills, he has also gained alot of fame and popularity just for that reason.

Biography

Cristiano Ronaldo first starting playing football (American soccer) at the age of 3. When he joined primary school, his talent was already easily visible. As a young teenager, Cristiano was signed by Sporting Lisbon and slowly made his way up. He scored 2 goals in his first Sporting Lisbon game against Moreirense. When Sporting Lisbon beat Manchester United 3-1 in 2003, Alex Ferguson wanted Ronaldo to join his Manchester United team instead.

Ronaldo scored a single penalty shot against Bolton Wanderers in a 60 minute substitute at his Manchester United debut. There were headlines and articles praising him all over Europe. Since then, he has played as a winger for United. Cristiano Ronaldo has been known since, for his tricks and dribbling skills. Although, he has also been known for temper problems during games. The UEFA imposed Ronaldo a single match ban for showing Benfica fans the middle finger. He was also given a yellow card for pushing Jeff Strasser in the throat.

In such a short timespan, Ronaldo has already achieved several awards. He was awarded Special Young Player of the Year in 2005 by the fans. In 2005, he had ranked 20th for in the FIFA standings. His team, United, won the Carling Cup in 2006. Many people disliked Ronaldo, he even stated that he'd leave England because of it, although he still remained popular with the majority of Manchester United fans after he scored in his first Premiership match since the 2006 World Cup. Fans chanted "there's only one Ronaldo!" during the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo in my personal opinion has not even reached half of his potential. There will be alot more that we will see from this magnificent player in the future. He has alot more goals to score, and alot more awards to gain. Afterall, he's already a star today; he'll quite possibly be a legend tomorrow.
